CHALLENGE
Born eight weeks premature, Rilee’s lungs weren’t fully developed. An enlarged liver further restricted his lung function. He required a trach, ventilator support and g-tube feedings.
Solution
After a successful liver transplant, PHS infusion nurses, respiratory therapists, dietitians, and home care nurses weaned him off ventilation and in 2013, Rilee was decannulated.

Results
Physically and developmentally, Rilee will continue improving and grow to be like any other child his age.
